Case Study 6 - Employee absenteeism

Our Client, a well Known Housing Association, suspected that one of their Housing Officers was not working the hours he was contracted, and paid, to do. As he enjoyed much freedom in his role, spending the majority of his time outside the Office, it was easy to betray the trust of his employer.

Our surveillance clearly evidenced that, whilst he attended the office to clock on and off, he spent much of his day on much more personal matters. It transpired that he was having an affair and was conducting his liaisons in work time, so as not to arouse the suspicions of his wife.

Not only did he enjoy the lengthy attentions of his girlfriend several times per week, he also indulged his other passion…. Golf!

Our report, and video evidence, allowed our Client to summarily dismiss this employee without fear of falling foul of Employment legislation and costly Tribunal hearings.
